I am once again participating in the Walk for Dementia this year in honour of my Mom, Shirley, who had dementia and passed away in 2010. I am a long-standing volunteer with the local Dementia Society and am proud to be chair of the volunteer Board of Directors. Each year we have a walk as our one major fundraising event. This year, the Walk for Dementia is taking place on May 11, 2019 at Tunney’s Pasture.
Please consider joining my team and walking with me and others on May 11, 2019, in support of the Dementia Society. If you are not able to participate in the Walk, please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation to my Walk for Dementia.
Your donation will directly benefit the thousands of people in the Ottawa and Renfrew County area who are living with dementia by funding:
- Guidance and support for over 4,100 people annually
- Social and peer engagement programs for caregivers and people with dementia
- Education on many topics related to dementia
- Information and resources to ensure caregivers and their loved ones with dementia have what they need to navigate the dementia journey
Whatever you can give will help – it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your support and thank you for helping me to reach my fundraising goal.
